Integrative counselling and coaching

A space to begin your therapeutic journey and thrive

"I quickly built trust with Nicola who I found insightful, caring and knowledgeable. The sessions were personalised to my individual needs and I made significant progress during this time. Nicola was always prepared for our meetings and we worked in a collaborative way.

Welcome to My Thinking Room, your safe and confidential therapy space where you can relax and connect with yourself and your feelings.

You may be new to therapy, or you may have sought therapy previously. Wherever you may be in your journey, I presume you are here because you may be facing challenges in your life, or you just feel stuck, and not sure how to move forward with purpose. Sometimes we struggle to make sense of our past, present or future and I want to assure you that with the right conditions we can begin to unravel the thoughts and feelings which can trouble us, to move us into a place of enlightenment and growth.

The ‘right conditions’ I speak of are those of time, understanding and a place to reflect and consider, to enable you to gain a new perspective.

I've gained the tools, skills and interventions to challenge the cycle of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviours which feed into one another. I have become less critical of myself, more optimistic and energised and feel I can move forward in a positive way."

I am dual qualified as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist and Coaching professional. I have an integrative approach which means that as well as drawing on different psychology methodology (person-centred, CBT, psycho-dynamic), I also combine therapeutic coaching.

Using an integrative approach, allows me to draw on the best method to enable you to explore those issues and obstructions to you moving forward, then using a therapeutic coaching approach to nurture and bring about personal growth.

Although we all face ups and downs throughout life, there are particular transitional phases which can present challenges to any of us. Be that, teenage years and into adulthood, or physical and emotional changes experienced by women each month, peri/post-natal and menopause. I also work with older adults who are transitioning into the latter part of their life and the challenges this can bring.

Many of these transitions are associated with emotional change and sometimes we just need someone to walk with us on that part of the journey to acknowledge our difficulties and help steer the ship through the storm to a calmer place.
